Chapter 4650: Mesmerized

Chapter 4650: Mesmerized

“Yes, he will be able to stand up in half a month,” Feng Jiu confirmed with a nod.

“Thank you, Madam, thank you!” the Old Patriarch expressed his gratitude repeatedly, his voice filled with emotion.

Pan Hong, too, couldn’t conceal his excitement upon hearing that he would be able to stand in such a short time. His wife, who stood nearby, wiped away tears of relief and bowed gratefully to Feng Jiu. “Thank you, Madam!”

“Madam, please join us in the front courtyard for dinner!” Pan Ning gestured an invitation and said, “My father has not yet returned from the palace. When he comes back, we will come and pay our respects to you.”

“It’s fine,” Feng Jiu replied, waving a dismissive hand to indicate he needn’t trouble himself, and then walked towards the front courtyard accompanied by Pan Ning.

From the moment Pan’s father exited the palace gates, the coachman approached to congratulate him. He relayed the news that an Immortal had arrived at the Pan family and that someone had come to the palace specifically to inform them and urge them to return home swiftly.

Pan’s father was both surprised and delighted, finally understanding the Emperor’s peculiar request to accompany him. He glanced back and saw that the Emperor had already entered a modest yet luxurious carriage. He quickly boarded his own carriage and instructed the driver to hasten home.

As they traveled, the townspeople who recognized the Pan family’s carriage came forward to offer their congratulations, remarking that their family had been blessed by the arrival of an Immortal.

They hurried back home and found a large crowd gathered in front of the gate. They had the crowd dispersed and personally welcomed the Emperor, who was dressed in plain clothes, into their residence before closing the gate.

“Your Majesty, please come in.” Although Pan’s father was eager to rush inside to understand the situation, he couldn’t leave the Emperor unattended and thus urged him to enter first.

The Emperor, eager to catch a glimpse of the immortal, quickened his pace as he entered the Pan family’s house. Upon reaching the front courtyard and observing the servants bustling about, carrying dishes to the table, he couldn’t help but smile. “It seems I have arrived at just the right time!” he remarked.

Pan’s father offered an apologetic smile. “Your Majesty’s arrival ensures that we will all dine together. Perhaps you will even have the honor of meeting the Immortal.”

The two continued their conversation as they walked inside. The Emperor, who was leading the way, slowed his steps as he entered the banquet hall. His breath hitched in his throat, and he stopped abruptly, his eyes fixed on the stunningly beautiful woman dressed in a dazzling red dress who sat at the centre of the banquet table.

Could this breathtakingly beautiful woman be the Immortal?

Such a face, seemingly sculpted by the heavens themselves, surpassed the beauty of even the three thousand concubines in his harem. The noble and elegant aura that radiated from her was particularly captivating, capable of ensnaring any heart. She was like a radiant sun; in her presence, the brilliance of others seemed to fade into insignificance.

His heart skipped a beat, yet his breathing shallowed, as if he were afraid to disturb a celestial being. His burning gaze remained fixed on her, following her every movement, every smile, every slight frown. The more he looked, the more enchanting she became, and the more his heart ached with a newfound desire.

Feng Jiu immediately noticed the intense gaze, which held the possessiveness of a hunter eyeing its prey, but she chose to ignore it. However, she hadn’t anticipated that the gaze would become even more blatant, causing her smile to falter slightly as she conversed with Pan Ning and the others.

“Your Majesty, Your Majesty.”

Pan’s father called out anxiously twice. Witnessing the Emperor’s unwavering stare at the immortal, his worry intensified, fearing that the immortal would become angered and punish them. Forgetting all decorum in his apprehension, he stepped forward and tugged at the Emperor’s sleeve.

“Your Majesty, Your Majesty!”
