Vile Evil Hides Under The Veil

Chapter 1963: Forceful Faith Conversion

Chapter 1963: Forceful Faith Conversion

Shir raised an eyebrow, but Sifrona continued, her voice trembling yet full of pride.

"No matter what happens to the demon army… my liege… my liege Eren will never fall into your hands."

She laughed, a broken laugh that echoed with madness and defiance.

"Tonight's battle is just the beginning. You… Do you think my liege lacks demons? He's the Young Demon Emperor. When he calls, millions will crawl out of the Demon Realm just to serve him."

Her eyes gleamed with devotion and hatred.

"Next time… when he comes back… you won't be able to cry, much less smile."

Her voice rose despite the pain.

"Tonight, you bully me. Tomorrow… it will be your turn to get bullied."

She chuckled again, blood slipping from the corner of her mouth.

"I… I am just a demon. Death means nothing to me. I was born in the Hvergelmir Springs and upon death it will claim me once again. I might forget this life… but I will follow my liege again in the next."

Her voice shook, but her eyes were clear.

"And by then… you will be dust. Long gone and forgotten."

She raised her head slightly, looking at Shir directly.

"So what are you waiting for? Kill me. I need time to prepare for my next rebirth."

Shir's foot remained on Sifrona's stomach as he looked down at her with cold, narrowed eyes. But something in her bloody smile, in her defiant words, made a vein twitch on his temple.

He furrowed his brows.

For the first time in the battle, he looked truly annoyed… and uneasy.

He wanted to kill her. Just crush her bones, break her will, and be done with it. But now, something about her loyalty made his chest burn—not with pride, but with fury. Not because he admired it, but because it reminded him of what he lacked.

Unshakable faith.

Why? Why would a mere demon beast like her speak so fearlessly about death, just because of her loyalty to Eren? Why did her eyes hold such deep conviction, when even his own most trusted commanders sometimes showed doubt?

Shir gritted his teeth silently.

He was a demigod too.

He had the divine spark granted by God Raashim.

He had done everything—led armies, performed rituals, punished sinners, rewarded the faithful. And yet… the Origin Force Points he received from his followers were pitiful in comparison. The flow of faith energy was weak.

Of course, he knew the reason. Most of that divine energy didn't reach him—it flowed straight to the Immortal he served. God Raashim.

After all, Shir was just the avatar. The will. The servant.

Not the true god.

Still, that didn't mean it didn't hurt his pride.

Compared to him, Eren—who was only a Young Demon Emperor and a mere demigod—had managed to raise such loyal subordinates in such a short time. Their devotion wasn't fake. It wasn't forced. It came from the heart. It came from belief.

And Shir hated that.

He wanted to break that faith. To show Eren and the world that even the most loyal follower could be turned. To stain Eren's reputation, not just as a commander—but as a demigod.

A wicked smile appeared on Shir's face.

He removed his foot from Sifrona's body and crouched down slightly, his golden eyes meeting her bloody gaze.

"Little bird," he said softly, almost kindly. "It seems I was a bit too rough with you earlier."

Sifrona's eyes didn't change. But her breathing grew sharper as his divine aura wrapped around her again.

"You're a good fighter. Brave. Committed. Someone like you… you shouldn't die here. You still have so much potential. You could rise far."

He tilted his head, his smile deepening.

"How about this? I won't kill you. In fact, I'll help you grow. I'll assist you in refining your phoenix bloodline, raise your Rank, grant you sacred resources… all you need to do—"

His smile twisted.

"—is renounce your faith in that low-level demigod Eren and embrace the divine path of God Raashim."

Sifrona blinked once. Then twice.

Her expression didn't change. But her silence said it all.

Still, Shir continued as if she hadn't just looked at him like he was insane.

"I know what you're thinking," he said smoothly. "You're thinking it's impossible. You're a demon. Your allegiance lies with the demonic pantheon. That your bloodline and nature won't allow you to betray your side."

He leaned closer, voice low and calm.

"But that's not entirely true. Not when God Raashim himself gets involved. If you accept His will, He can transform your very existence.

Inside his Immortal Domain, the restrictions of Faustian Contracts will no longer matter. Your soul, your blood, your path—they will all be purified. Reforged. Blessed."

A faint glow of divine light flickered around Shir's fingertips.

"You would no longer be a demon. You'd be a purified being. A holy phoenix under Raashim's light."

His tone grew colder now.

"Eren's so-called authority, his pathetic demigod spark—he can't stop that. He cannot stop God Raashim's interference. He is way too weak in front of someone like God Raashim."

The rooftop trembled slightly under Shir's aura as he slowly pressed it into Sifrona's mind. It wasn't brute force. It was subtle… seductive. Like a whisper in the soul.

"So…" he asked in a gentle voice, though his eyes gleamed with power.

"Are you interested?"

"Hehehehehe!"

Sifrona laughed.

Even in her bloody state, her voice echoed weakly but clearly in the air between them.

"Haha… you want to convert me?" she said, looking at Shir like he was the biggest joke in the world. "How about you convert instead?"

Her grin widened despite the pain.

"I'll welcome you into our faith. Come on… kneel before the Young Demon Emperor. Denounce your god and accept the demonic throne. My liege's future is as boundless as the cosmos itself. If I put in a good word, I'm sure he'll accommodate you to be his lackey just fine."

Shir's face twisted in rage. "I… A lackey? Gegege! That was a good joke, little bird. Really good."

In the next second, his trident moved.

Stab!
